What's this?
Because I love her, this is a website I made hoping to save my relationship with my girlfriend. Its purpose is to act as an unlikely petition hoping to sway her parents’ mind and to allow her to continue her education and our relationship. If it achieves only one of the two, then this website would be considered a success.
What’s the problem?
Due to unfortunate circumstances involving parental disapproval (i.e. her parents hate me) she is not allowed to see me anymore.
Who are we?
Respectably we are college students, 27 and 25, mature, educated (I’ll finish my masters while ideally she’ll begin hers in 2008), responsible, passionate, and in love. Although we’ve only been together for less than six months, I believe in the possibility of tomorrow and want to actively explore our relationship and to pursue it further.
Things get complicated…
She expresses similar sentiments but… yes there is always a but… she’s an international student from Taiwan and comes from a very traditional and strict family. Whereas I am Taiwanese American, raised on Married with Children, hamburgers, and tackle football.
Things get more complicated…
Originally she had planned to begin her masters in 2008, but now that her parents found out about us and me in particular, they are not letting her return to America to continue her studies and she’s not allowed to see me anymore.
While this seems absolute and dry, the reality is much more complex and not so black and white.
